California Medicare Dual Eligible Rx Implementation - April 29, 2005A discussion of California Medicare Dual Eligible Rx Implementation, affecting more than one million Californians, marked the inaugural session of the California Health Policy Forum (CAHPF), Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Legislative Office Building. The briefing was co-sponsored by the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP), and featured national speakers including Jeffrey Kelman, MD, (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid), Chuck Milligan, JD, MPH, (University of Maryland), Julie James (Health Policy Alternatives) and Alan Weil, MA, JD, (NASHP). At the briefing, CAHPF released the policy brief, California Medicare Part D: Dual Eligible Rx Implementation. The forum drew attendees including legislative staff from the California State Senate member offices, Senate Subcommittee on Aging and Long-Term Care, Senate Office of Research, California Assembly member offices, the Assembly Health Committee and the Legislative Analystfs Office. Agency attendees included representatives from the CA State Board of Pharmacy, the Office of the Patient Advocate, the CA Department of Developmental Services, and the CA Department of Health Services. |
