In this forum Mark Smith, MD, President of the California HealthCare Foundation, talked about key drivers – both favorable and unfavorable - affecting health care delivery and financing in the public and private sectors. He shared his thoughts on how the public and private sectors can better work together, with a special emphasis on improvements in the quality of care and technology. Following Dr. Smith’s remarks, Robert H. Brook, MD, ScD, Vice President and Director, RAND Health Sciences Program presented his innovative ideas for how California can best advance health care delivery and financing.
